[HHL gGmbH - 12.06.2013] HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is continuing to develop its career service at an international level. Germany's most traditional business school recently became a new member of CARNET Alliance, an association of the careers services of leading European business schools. Its aim is to develop links between employers, students and member schools, leading to jobs, events, consultancy projects and international cooperation. HHL offers its MBA students exclusive access to an online platform. Core to it is a LinkedIn group which provides up-to-date career tips and job offers. HHL is the only business school in Germany that is a member of this career network. Other business schools, all of which are accredited by EQUIS and/or AMBA or AACSB are from England, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Scotland and Spain.

Melanie Petersen, Head of Employer Relations at HHL, says: "Our CARNET Alliance membership allows us to extensively develop our services both for our German and for our foreign students. With the support of the CARNET Alliance consortium we were able to offer high-grade web-seminars, for example with Daniel Porot, the "career pope", in the last few months which were accepted extremely well by our MBA students. Additionally, the career services of the CARNET schools offer individual consultations for our students, too."

The Master Program in General Management (MBA) at HHL

The MBA program offered by HHL which is taught in English is considered one of the best independently developed programs of this kind in Germany. The proportion of international students in this HHL program constitutes approximately 80 percent, an outstanding figure in the global comparison of full-time MBA programs. Since its introduction in the year 2000, the 12- to 18-month full-time MBA program has focused on teaching management and leadership skills in a global context. This is supported by an innovative curriculum which is no longer structured in a purely functional manner but also follows an interdisciplinary approach in accordance with the challenges in management (Managing Investors, Managing Society, Managing Customers etc.). This cross-functional, stakeholder-oriented approach combines the contents of the individual courses and offers students a significantly added value. This is ensured by 28 lecturers from seven countries. They provide students with an insight into the latest scientific management approaches in a global context.

The practical relation is ensured by teaching content with practical relevance including case studies, a field project accompanying the program or an optional internship abroad. International Management is not only taught but also a part of everyday life at HHL thanks to the international background among students and professors. The international cross-linking of the program is represented by substantial cooperation with universities abroad. From Australia to Uruguay - HHL has more than 110 partner universities worldwide. The students have the opportunity to spend one term at one of these partner universities. The intensive and professional counseling for students from the initial contact to the alumni network must be emphasized. A Careers Service accompanies students from the day they are admitted to the program until the successful job application. Further information: http://www.hhl.de/mba
