New Functionality Increases Productivity and Helps Reduce Costs Across Business Functions

• To support its growing global business, National Instruments, a producer of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software, has upgraded to the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.2.

• A long-standing user of Oracle Applications, National Instruments upgraded to the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 to gives its finance, HR, manufacturing, marketing, sales and research and development functions access to new functionality across a comprehensive suite of business applications.

• Completed on time and on budget, the National Instruments team managed the upgrade to the latest version of the Oracle E-Business Suite internally and leveraged Oracle Support to reduce IT risk and minimize downtime.

• With the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition working in conjunction, National Instruments has been able to leverage new reporting tools and Oracle BI Publisher’s capabilities to simplify the management and distribution of over 1 million quotes a year to its diverse customer base.

• New functionality within Oracle E-Business Suite Financials has allowed National Instruments to streamline and enhance the management of tax returns and financial reporting globally. The Oracle Projects module enhancements are reducing the time taken to review and approve timecards for thousands of engineers by 15 percent.

• The new approval management engine in the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 has further streamlined financial reporting by simplifying purchasing and expense approvals and making records easily accessible for auditing.

• In addition, National Instruments has been able to simplify the management of approximately 250,000 complex software and hardware orders a year by using Oracle Order Management to directly integrate order details into other Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 applications, including Oracle Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Oracle Discrete Manufacturing, Oracle Advanced Procurement and Oracle Inventory Optimization.

• By providing a flexible, scalable and reliable global business platform, the Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 delivers the high availability and integration needed to support National Instruments’ increased productivity and continued reduction in costs to support continued growth.
